Every Springer visit is shaped around what genuinely matters to your loved one, conversation, passions, comfort and connection.
Real talk, shared memories and intellectual company.
At the centre of every Springer visit is the simple, profound act of being heard. Our companions are chosen for their conversational depth, people who delight in stories of childhood, careers, love, loss and the small absurdities of life.
Whether it is a long discussion about Sunday papers, a debate over a favourite novelist, or quiet reminiscence over old photographs, Connection & Conversation is where genuine friendship is built.

Galleries, gardens, books. Rediscover your spark.
Later life should never be the end of curiosity. Our Springers actively rekindle the hobbies that once brought your loved one joy, and gently introduce new ones.
A morning at the Royal Academy, an afternoon tending the rose bed, a weekly book club for two, or a competitive game of Scrabble. Passion and play are central to feeling alive.

Light help, meal prep and a Cornetto run on a hot day.
The little things matter most. Our Springers help bring quiet order to the home, a tidy kitchen, a freshly prepared meal, the laundry folded, the post sorted.
And on a warm afternoon, perhaps a stroll to the corner shop for a Cornetto. This is not domestic labour; it is gentle, attentive companionship that keeps the home feeling like home.

Video calls, social media and personal music playlists.
Modern technology can feel overwhelming, but it is also the thread that keeps families close. Our Springers patiently help with WhatsApp video calls to grandchildren, Facebook updates, online shopping and email.
We will set up a Spotify playlist of the songs your loved one danced to in their twenties, organise treasured photos into albums, and make sure the iPad never becomes a stranger.

The NHS handles the clinical handover. We handle everything else. The first 72 hours at home after a hospital stay are the hardest, not medically, but practically and emotionally. A Springer bridges that gap with calm, capable, unhurried presence.
We ready the home before discharge, with fresh bedding, a stocked fridge, the heating on, post collected, and the lamp in the reading chair switched on.
A friendly, familiar Springer collects your loved one from hospital, accompanies them home, and stays as long as needed to settle in.
Daily visits in the first week back, with meals, conversation, gentle errands, family updates and reassurance during the most fragile days of recovery.

If your loved one requires clinical or personal care support alongside companionship, we are happy to signpost you to appropriate regulated providers. Many families use both services in parallel.
Second Spring Companions is an introductory agency. Our Springers provide companionship, practical and lifestyle support only. We are not a CQC-regulated provider and do not offer personal or clinical care. The Homecoming Service is designed to complement, not replace, any medical or care provision your loved one receives.
We believe genuine connection cannot be rushed. Our two-hour minimum ensures every visit is relaxed, meaningful, and entirely tailored to you.
